So a bit of an update, we went to see Dr. K for the 19 week anatomy scan. Baby came out 100% healthy!! Phew!! She was playing around and not wanting to give good shots, but in the end everything was fine. We even got to confirm that she's a girl. On the other hand, they're questioning the length of my cervix. They're not sure if it's always been like that or if it's short because of pregnancy. So I guess they'll measure it again next time and if there's a problem we can deal with it then. I also have complete placenta previa which I kind of felt I would. I had low lying placenta last time so this time it's completely covering my cervix. That's okay though because we already are having a scheduled c-section. I just have to try and take it easy, it's hard to with all this nesting though.
So the magic date for this baby to be born is:
OCTOBER 4TH, 2010!!!!
I can't believe we know when she'll arrive. It's so surreal to have picked out your baby's birthday. I'll be 38 weeks and 3 days and that's exactly when I gave birth last time so let's hope I don't go into labour before then.
It is so sad to think that our son was 100% healthy as well, and how differently things turned out. I am still angry and bitter, I am trying not to think about things too much right now because I'll probably panic for the rest of this pregnancy. But I know once this baby is out that I'll be replaying all of his videos in my head.
With respect to the lawyer, they told us we do have a case and asked if we want to go ahead despite the fact that there won't be much to gain from this. I figure, if I make the doctor have at least ONE sleepless horrid night like I did, then it is worth it for me. The point is to make her sweat, not for us to gain monetary advantages. We know we won't get diddly-squat, I just want her expertise to be questioned (if she has any) and for her to question herself as well, maybe she will be more careful??? Ugh...wishful thinking anyways...
So off topic...here's a couple of pictures, the first one is the 19 week picture and the second one is of today, almost 21 weeks to the day.
Yay! A baby date! How wonderful! You look great. I'm glad you're going ahead with your case for Liam. That doctor absolutely needs to squirm and, hopefully, change her practices altogether. Wishing you all the best for the last little bit of your 2nd trimester and, of course, your 3rd!
